Terms of Use

The rules for using MININE PDF. Covers your license, subscriptions, AI features, and what we're each responsible for. Standard stuff — no surprises.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using MININE PDF (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and Minine Inc ("we," "us," or "our"). Your use of the App is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Description of the Service

MININE PDF is an iOS application that provides the following features (which may be updated, expanded, or modified from time to time):

  • PDF viewing and reading
  • Annotation and markup (highlight, underline, draw, text notes)
  • Document scanning and OCR (optical character recognition)
  • Page management (merge, split, reorder, rotate, extract)
  • File conversion and compression
  • Electronic signature image placement
  • AI-powered features (document summarization, translation, Q&A, content analysis)

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the App at any time, with or without notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

The App does not require account creation. Certain features (such as subscriptions) are managed through your Apple ID and Apple's systems.

4. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple App Store Terms of Service.

This license does not allow you to:

  • Redistribute, sublicense, sell, or commercially exploit the App
  • Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Copy the App or any part thereof, except as permitted by applicable law
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices in the App

5. User Content

You retain all ownership rights in the documents, files, images, text, annotations, signatures, and other content you create, import, or process using the App ("User Content").

By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your User Content solely to the extent necessary to provide the App's features and services. This includes:

  • Processing documents locally on your device for core PDF features
  • Transmitting document content to third-party AI services (Google Gemini) when you actively use AI features

We do not claim ownership of your User Content. We will not use your documents for any purpose other than providing the services you request.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You have the right to use and process all User Content you submit
  • Your User Content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property or other rights
  • Your User Content does not contain malicious code, viruses, or illegal material

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Upload, process, or distribute content that infringes intellectual property rights, violates privacy, or is otherwise illegal
  • Upload files containing malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App
  • Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with subscription verification, payment systems, or access controls
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the App or its features in bulk
  • Abuse AI features to generate illegal, harmful, or deceptive content
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, security, or performance of the App or its infrastructure
  • Attempt to access features or services without proper authorization or payment

7. Subscriptions, Billing, and Auto-Renewal

MININE PDF offers free and premium (subscription-based) tiers. By subscribing to a premium plan, you agree to the following:

  • Payment: All payments are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system via your Apple ID. We do not directly collect or store payment information.
  • Subscription Periods: Subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual basis, as displayed in the App at the time of purchase.
  • Pricing: Prices are as displayed in the Apple App Store and may vary by region. We reserve the right to change pricing; any changes will apply to the next billing cycle.
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Free Trials: If a free trial is offered, it will convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
  • Cancellation: You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings (Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

8. AI Features Disclaimer

This section is important. Please read it carefully.

The App includes AI-powered features that use Google's Gemini API to process document content. Regarding these features:

  • Not Professional Advice: AI-generated outputs (summaries, translations, answers, analysis) are provided for informational and reference purposes only. They do not constitute legal, medical, financial, tax, or any other form of professional advice.
  • No Guarantee of Accuracy: AI outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or contain errors. You should independently verify any critical information before relying on it.
  • Data Transmission: When you use AI features, relevant document text and content are transmitted to Google's Gemini API for processing. The AI service does not retain your submitted content after generating a response. However, do not submit highly sensitive, confidential, legally privileged, or classified documents to AI features unless you understand and accept this data transmission.
  • Usage Limits: We may impose usage limits, rate limits, or fair-use restrictions on AI features at our discretion.
  • Availability: AI features depend on third-party services and may be unavailable, degraded, or discontinued at any time without notice.

9. Electronic Signatures

The App allows you to add electronic signature images or handwritten signature markings to PDF documents. This feature is provided as a convenience tool for placing visual signature representations on documents.

Whether such electronic signatures carry legal validity depends on the applicable laws and regulations of your jurisdiction and the specific use case. We make no representations or guarantees regarding the legal enforceability of signatures applied using the App. For legally binding electronic signatures, consult a qualified legal professional or use a certified digital signature service.

10. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, interface, code, algorithms, graphics, logos, trademarks, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Minine Inc and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your User Content remains your property (or that of the respective rights holders). Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your documents or files to us.

11. Third-Party Services and Content

The App integrates third-party services, including but not limited to Google Gemini API, Google AdMob, Meta (Facebook) SDK, AppsFlyer, and Apple StoreKit. These services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not control and are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services. Your use of third-party services through the App is at your own risk.

12. Service Changes and Termination

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, update, or discontinue any features or functionality of the App
  • Change subscription pricing (changes apply to the next billing cycle)
  • Suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms
  • Limit or restrict access to certain features for abuse or misuse

Where reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice of material changes. If we discontinue the App entirely, we will make reasonable efforts to notify existing subscribers.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
  • That the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses
  • That OCR, scanning, file conversion, compression, or any processing results will be completely accurate
  • That AI-generated summaries, translations, or analysis will be correct or complete
  • That the App will meet your specific requirements or expectations

You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your important files and documents. We are not liable for any data loss, file corruption, or formatting errors that may occur during document processing.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MININE INC, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, business, or goodwill
  • Damages arising from reliance on AI-generated content
  • Damages arising from file corruption, conversion errors, or OCR inaccuracies
  • Damages arising from unauthorized access to or alteration of your data

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising under or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us (through Apple's In-App Purchase system) in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty US dollars ($50), whichever is greater.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Minine Inc and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the App in violation of these Terms
  • Your User Content, including any claims of infringement or illegality
  • Your violation of any applicable law or third-party right

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer that cannot be waived or limited by contract under applicable law.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide notice through the App or other reasonable means.

Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the App.
